Interface21’s Mark Pollack Named One of Microsoft’s Most Valuable Professionals

Principal Software Engineer Recognized for Exceptional Technical Expertise and Involvement in Microsoft’s Global Communities

San Mateo, Calif.—October 11, 2007—Interface21, a leading provider of trusted open source software for building and deploying mission-critical enterprise applications, today announced that Principal Software Engineer Mark Pollack has been recognized as a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional (MVP). A core Spring developer since 2003, Pollack founded and serves as the technical co-lead of Spring.NET, Interface21’s framework for the development and deployment of enterprise .NET applications.

The Microsoft MVP Award recognizes exceptional technical community leaders from around the world who voluntarily share their high quality, real-world expertise with others. MVPs actively participate in a variety of Microsoft technical communities through which a worldwide network of people communicate, support and provide feedback about Microsoft products, technologies and services with each other, as well as Microsoft.

“On behalf of Microsoft, I am pleased to recognize Mark Pollack as a Microsoft Most Valuable Professional,” said Sean O’Driscoll, general manager of Community Support Services at Microsoft Corp. “MVPs represent the voice, strength and value of the Microsoft customer — the true spirit of technical communities. They possess an infectious enthusiasm that inspires others.”

Pollack has worked extensively in the financial sector as an architect and developer on various front office trading systems that involve a mixture of Microsoft and Java technologies. Prior to joining Interface21, he was a founding partner at CodeStreet, LLC, an independent software vendor in the financial services industry. In 1991, Pollack received a bachelor’s degree in Physics from Stony Brook University and went on to earn a Ph.D. in Experimental High-Energy Nuclear Physics from the same university in 1997.

“Mark’s recognition as an outstanding member of Microsoft’s technical communities is very well-deserved,” said Rod Johnson, CEO of Interface21. “His invaluable level of technical expertise and his commitment to the .NET community has been evident in his work at Interface21, and we are proud to have one of the best and the brightest of the Microsoft technical community on board.”

“I feel honored to receive this prestigious distinction from Microsoft,” said Pollack. “My involvement in the Microsoft .NET community has been rewarding for me on both a personal and professional level, and I hope to continue to contribute and be inspired by the talented members of the Microsoft global community.”
