SpringSource is the leading Apache Tomcat support provider. SpringSource employees are responsible for 80 percent of the commits to Apache Tomcat in the past two years and most Tomcat problem incidents are resolved by SpringSource long before they reach the community forums, resulting in a 97 percent renewal rate for Tomcat support.
Seminar presenters will include Filip Hanik, a senior software engineer for SpringSource and a key committer to Apache Tomcat. Seminar topics include:
• Large-scale Tomcat deployments
• Performance tuning Tomcat
• Troubleshooting Tomcat in production environments
• Enterprise capabilities for Tomcat
• Mitigating risk using Tomcat in mission-critical deployments
Hanik has more than 13 years of experience in architecture, design and development of distributed application frameworks and containers, and is recognized for his system development skills and leadership in open source development projects. He is a leading authority on Tomcat clustering and author of the Hitch-Hikers Guide to Tomcat.
“Our intention with the Apache Tomcat Expert Seminar Series is to bring operation staff, enterprise developers and architects together to learn firsthand about Tomcat in order to maximize the success of their application infrastructure from inception through production,” said Mark Brewer, senior vice president of enterprise delivery for SpringSource. “The recent launch of the SpringSource tc Server further demonstrates our commitment to Tomcat in enterprise deployments.
