SpringSource Launches Global Tomcat and tc Server Programs Designed to Help IT Organizations Migrate to Enterprise Ready, Lightweight Application Servers

Web and Live Events Designed to Educate Developers, IT Administrators and IT Operations on Adding Operational Management, Advanced Diagnostics and Mission-Critical Support for Apache Tomcat with SpringSource tc Server

SAN MATEO, Calif.—July 28, 2009— SpringSource, the leader in Java application infrastructure and management, today announced a series of live seminars on SpringSource tc Server, the enterprise version of Apache Tomcat, in conjunction with a webinar series on tc Server and Apache Tomcat, the world’s most widely used Java application server.

According to an Evans Data research study, nearly 70 percent of respondents reported that Tomcat is in production within their organizations. Over the past two years, SpringSource employees were responsible for 80 percent of the commits to Apache Tomcat. Most Tomcat problem incidents are resolved by SpringSource long before they reach the community forums, resulting in a 97 percent renewal rate for the company’s Tomcat support.

Building on the success of last year’s Apache Tomcat Expert Seminar Series which drew more than 1,000 attendees worldwide, SpringSource invites developers, IT operations staff and administrators to learn how to use SpringSource tc Server; build and deploy applications on Apache Tomcat; and learn how organizations can migrate from the bloat and complexity found in traditional Java EE application servers.

Introduction to SpringSource tc Server Seminar Series—These free, live seminars will provide information on how to use SpringSource tc Server to manage large scale Tomcat deployments and control distributed groups of Tomcat instances. tc Server provides developers with the lightweight server they want, Apache Tomcat, paired with the operational management, advanced diagnostics, and mission-critical support capabilities businesses need. The seminar series kicks off on July 28th in Seattle. For a complete list of seminars visit: http://www.springsource.com/content/introduction-springsource-tc-server-series.
