Monitoring Tab

tc Server lets users monitor the performance and utilization of Tomcat instance(s), the operating system, and the Spring Framework out of the box—with deep insight at each level plus the ability to visually correlate performance metrics and event data across levels. tc Server’s monitoring can be easily extended to include other application components (e.g. database, message queue, etc.) via vFabric Hyperic.

See within your application: JMX instrumentation present in your application code can be easily brought into tc Server and monitored as performance metrics alongside the pre-configured items. Note: tc Server Developer Edition allows request activity tracing within Java applications, including method-level and JDBC details, even if the applications don’t contain any JMX.

If and when an application slowdown occurs, tc Server provides diagnostics information that answers a host of questions: Which page in the application was slow? Was there excessive garbage collection? A problem getting a database connection from the connection pool? Was the database slow to respond to one or more SQL queries generated by the application? If so, which queries were slow, (i.e. display the actual SQL statements), and how long did each query take to come back from the database? These inquiries are answered by tc Server’s diagnostics output. The diagnostics information from the tc Server production edition ties back into the Insight tracing in your Developer edition, enabling your operations and development teams to work together to rapidly resolve issues at their root causes.
