SpringSource Bolsters Executive Management Team With New Chief Financial Officer And Vice President Of Marketing

Seasoned Executives Bring Operational and Strategic Experience to Open Source Leader

SAN MATEO, Calif.—February 19, 2008— SpringSource, the company behind the Spring Portfolio, the leading enterprise Java™ application platform, today announced the appointment of Nick White as chief financial officer and Greg Schott as vice president of marketing.

At SpringSource, White will manage the company’s financial operations, including budgeting, fiscal planning and analysis. His addition further enhances SpringSource’s operations and financial performance as the company continues to expand globally.

With a 25-year track record of managing finance for high-growth technology companies, White brings a wealth of experience to SpringSource.  Prior to joining, he was chief financial officer at Transitive, best known for providing Rosetta to Apple.  White joined Transitive in 2002 and led the company through its subsequent financing rounds and legal negotiations for its OEM relationships with Apple, IBM, Intel, Fujitsu-Siemens and Red Hat.

Previously, White was chief financial officer at Pulse Entertainment, a startup providing 3D animation software for the Web. He also served in financial management roles at NeXT Computer and California Energy. Earlier in his career, he was a senior audit manager at Coopers & Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) serving high-technology clients in the Silicon Valley.

Prior to joining SpringSource, Schott served as senior vice president of marketing as well as vice president of corporate development at Agile Software (acquired by Oracle).  He also served as vice president of marketing and vice president of operations at DG Systems, where he helped lead the company from a startup to a profitable public company.  Previously, Schott held management positions at The Boston Consulting Group, Westinghouse and IBM and served on the public company boards of Sonus and VerticalNet.
