Jasper Blues

Jasper Blues is a consultant within our Australasian service delivery division, where he provides a wide range of consulting, training and support for our clients across Asia-Pacific.

Jasper has been working as a software developer since 1997, and with Spring since 2005. He is actively involved in the development of several Spring portfolio products. He is a contributor to the popular Spring LDAP module. He founded and is the lead developer of the Spring LDAP-ODM project - one of the first object to LDAP directory mapping implementations.

Prior to joining SpringSource, Jasper worked extensively as a consultant throughout Australia, as well as in Europe and North America. In his last role he coordinated the integration of Spring into a grid computing platform. This allowed Spring managed objects to execute in a parallel environment with tight integration to Spring IoC, Spring Security, Spring persistence and Spring Transactions. He has also amassed significant experience with rich internet presentation technologies, persistence frameworks, security, SOA, refactoring techniques, design patterns and agile methodologies.

At SpringSource Jasper has delivered training, consulting and user group presentations across numerous Asia-Pacific cities including Bangalore, Manila, Wellington and at home in Australia. Combining a lively and unique presentation style, Jasper is both an informative and interesting communicator.

In his spare time, Jasper plays harmonica, modern trumpet, baroque trumpet, guitar and didjeridoo. He also consults in a production and engineering capacity on the application of technology in music.
