On May 6th, SpringSource announced that VMware is acquiring GemStone Systems, a privately held provider of enterprise data management solutions based in Beaverton, Oregon. SpringSource will integrate GemStone’s high performance data management technologies into its suite of application infrastructure that enables the development, deployment and management of cloud-centric applications.
GemStone’s flagship product, GemFire Enterprise, is a scalable, distributed data platform that ensures the right data is available to the right applications at the right time within a distributed cloud environment.
